My second Fav race this weekend.....

I had something great to say but I keep getting distracted by my last post.

Flanders; Sunday, Sunday, Sunday….It’s too bad I can’t which it live….I have to play tour guild to a bunch of thug’s. I’ll just have to beat the carp out of them early so I can catch the race. My moneys on the Big Belgium stud to repeat. I don’t buy this foot thing, his team going to lay it down and then he’ll turn on the after burners…

Do you think Goats sitting at the front door waiting for Kev to show, like some school girl going to Junior prom....

1st spring ride.....

Well I’m finely back to laying base miles……The sickness is gone and the body feels good. Well maybe not good but at least I’m not hacking up a lug every 10mins. Did the first ride up the canyon for the year. Which is always a good sign spring is here.

Well “The Crew” is showing up in a day or two so I though I’d repost “Goats” biking phrases. he'll say anything to soften you up for the kill. Don't let this
happen to you. Study this handy phrasebook to find out what
he really means when he says:

"I'm out of shape"
Translation: I ride 400 miles a week and haven't missed a day since the Ford administration. I replace my 11-tooth cog more often than you wash your shorts. My body fat percentage is lower than your mortgage rate.

"I'm not into competition. I'm just riding to stay in shape"
Translation: I will attack until you collapse in the gutter, babbling
and whimpering. I will win the line sprint if I have to force you into
oncoming traffic. I will crest this hill first if I have to grab your
seat post, and spray energy drink in your eyes.

"I'm on my beater bike"
Translation: I had this baby custom-made in Tuscany using titanium
blessed by the Pope. I took it to a wind tunnel and it disappeared. It
weighs less than a fart and costs more than a divorce.

"It's not that hilly"
Translation: This climb lasts longer than a presidential campaign. Be
careful on the steep sections or you'll fall over backward. You have a
39x23 low gear? Here's the name of my knee surgeon.

"This is a no-drop ride"
Translation: I'll need an article of your clothing for the
search-and-rescue dogs.

"It's not that far"
Translation: Bring your passport

So what....

So whats the "Top of the World" look like? here yea go. But don't look to close or you'll be heading to the bottom quick. Its the kind of place you can really get in touch with yourself and not in the usual way. It’s now on my list of Fav trails. Not to long but it will knock you down a peg or two.

From Moab take hwy128 east along the Colorado River past Castle Valley. The 25 miles from town along the Colorado is worth it alone. At the Dewey Bridge hang a right into the parking area before you cross the bridge. There is a toilet available here. Mount up and ride! Don’t be a Sissy! Its 5 miles and about 1500’ of vert on a jeep road to warm you up until you hang a right on to the Kokopelli trail. Then it’s just a short 5 miles and 2000 vert to the “Top of The World”. The views are killer! And the best part, there will be no goobers here. They’ll all be riding tire to tire on the “Porcupine Rim”. You can watch them ride by from a crossed the valley. Eat your lunch on top and loose it on the way down. It’s a bomber all the way down!

So this guy passes me on I-70 with the cops hot on his tail. Must have absconded the cart from Wal-Mart

Sick of the Sickness......

When should you go to see a Doc? It’s been like 11 days now and I’m still feeling the sickness! Wades of snot, chunks chum and lungs filled with phlegm (just as side note “phlegm” is a VERY difficult word for Mitch Man to spell). I’m going to get back on the bike for a short spin today. Then drill it Friday. I’m taking a little advice from my Dad. Once (when I was a kid) driving along in his truck the engine started making a hell of a noise. It was like someone hitting a trash cans with a ball peen hammer. He just look over at me smiled and said “its ether going to get better or BLOW” and then pushed the accelerator to the floor. Well about a mile late it blew. Maybe it’s not the best advice, but it’s the only piece of wisdom the old man gave me and I’m going with it. Hopefully I’m on the downside of sickness. It’s time to stop eat’n doughnuts, drink’n coffee and watching soaps. Lets ride and let her rip! This thing has been a pain in the ASS….it has to be some kind of a record for me.

Last night I was trying to get a room down in Moab for the weekend for some sweet riding and try to get back on the horse. But the town is booked solid. I guess there some kind of Barrel Racing cowboy thing going on. Now how redneck is that? With all the cowboys it better that I stay away for Moab with all the “Colorado Mini Vans” (that’s code for a ¾ ton dually crew cab pick-up). Maybe I’ll go over to Gateway. Maybe I’ll head over to the Front Range for one of the Boulder training races…..maybe I’ll just eat some more doughnuts!

Time for some coffee!

Spring has Sprung.....

Right! It started snowing Friday and hasn’t stopped. I think we got a little over 12” last night and 20” for the weekend. But with my sickness dragging me down I only could skied. It just couldn’t bring myself to drive over to Fruita to ride. Plus I just didn’t want to suffer that bad. Looks like I’ll need to start base all over again. Sick for a week and a week off the bike and I’m shot…..But with all the snow it was epic over a Williams Peak. The dog to more face shot that then a monkey at a carney game. I’ve got some great pic’s but can’t find my camera right now……maybe that will be my mission for today. I’ve never be sick more them two days in my life and this is day eight…….maybe I should go get some of those “Goat Pills”.

It’s going to be back in the 50’s tomorrow so after this (my 3rd already) Espresso I think I’ll head back over to Williams for some more sweet fresh turns……I can always ride TOMORROW…..right.

O-yea, I’ve posted some sweet “29er” frame-sets up on E-bay with a very low “Spring Sale” price. Anybody that reads this Blog and buys one gets the new “MM Cycles” Tee-shit along with all the other fun stuff.

So...I made my own little sign!

My Blog stays on Topic....

It's good to be a Kat....

But it's better to be a Dive Bomber!

So a plan has been hatched and the ground work laid……..Come the 1st of April it going to be a great day to be a fool! Just not the one you think.

Today was a lazy day to work in the shop, BS'd on the phone, work'd, BS'd some more……The weather wasn’t fit for fun today. Rain, snow, rain, snow….Have you ever seen it snow when it’s 52deg? I got the new artwork off the printer today. Hopefully it will be the last week of screwing around with that. Then I can screw around with something else……

I think i'll go enjoy some coffee.....I got these great new cups.
