Anyone not seen the movie Napoleon Dynamite? No one, right? Okay, then everyone understands the reference to Uncle Rico, It's the guy never got over not winning the state football championship in high school because the coach wouldn't let him play quarterback? and shit went down hill from there! Totally delusional, practically living out of his van, no job, no prospects… we ALL recognize him as the buffoon he is, right? So, why is it that when some guy in his early 20's to maybe even late 30's, racing the amateur circuit , rants on about how the guys who are succeeding must be doping, and either outright claiming or at a minimum implying, that if not for everyone ELSE doping, they could've made it in the pros, we don't see them as delusional?

I mean, face it, if you were going to make it in pro cycling, don't you think someone, anyone (other than yourself) would've noticed your talent by the time you were 30?

It's not just that folks want to cast dispersions on top cyclists, fans in all sports do that. Not everyone is a fan of all athletes, regardless of the sport, so it's understandable when someone doesn't like a particular athlete. But, to cast everyone who's better than you a doper or a cheat is nuts. Face it, some folks are better than others at certain things. Pro cyclists aren't better than you (or me) 'cause they dope. They're better 'cause you (and me) aren't that good.

Hint: if you're a cat II, or even a I, who's over 22 and who's been racing more than 3 years and you're not a pro yet, you never will be. Get over it. Accept that the pros are better just because, not because they're doping. (they may be doping, obviously many still are, but that's not why they're better than you). The 12K dream is a nightmare.

Bam.......On LIne! and Nailed One!
